Start a new adventure with us this summer…
This year’s Series Starter Summer Sessions invite elementary readers to step into the first book of four delightful series—each one opening the door to new characters, new questions, and new worlds to love. Guided by Mr. and Mrs. A, students will discover how great stories begin, meeting unforgettable characters and exploring the moments that set an entire series in motion.
Together, we’ll spend time enjoying what makes these stories so engaging: the friendships, the humor, the small surprises, and the big ideas tucked inside simple tales. From playful mischief to heartfelt family moments, each book offers something to enjoy while helping students grow as attentive, thoughtful readers. Whether your student is brand new to these books or revisiting old favorites, these discussions are designed to spark a love of reading and build confidence in sharing ideas with others.
Join us for 4 fun discussions on Tuesdays at 1:00 PM Eastern (10:00 AM Pacific) according to the schedule below:
July 14th: The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner
Four runaway siblings turn an abandoned boxcar into their secret home, living off their wits and sticking together no matter what. It’s a cozy, clever adventure about independence, family, and making a life of your own.
July 21st: Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren
Pippi is the strongest, wildest kid you’ve ever met—she lives alone, does whatever she wants, and turns every ordinary day into a hilarious adventure!
July 28th: Beezus and Ramona by Beverly Cleary
Beezus Quimby is trying to be responsible, but her little sister Ramona keeps turning everyday life into chaos—from ruined library books to unpredictable schemes. Between frustration and laughter, their family life unfolds in a series of unforgettable, all-too-real moments.
August 4th: Soup by Robert Newton Peck
Soup and his best friend Rob spend their days dreaming up outrageous plans, from digging for treasure to taming imaginary dangers, with results that rarely go as expected. Their small-town adventures are packed with mishaps, mischief, and the kind of stories that grow bigger every time they’re told.
