Pelican Book Club: Home

Last summer we tried something new. We decided our students shouldn't be the only ones who have the opportunity to share their great ideas about classic books. That's why we created our grownup book club, and we had so much fun talking to you about Marilynne Robinson's Gilead!

Now that we have The Pelican Society, we want to make our book club a regular event. Starting this spring, we will begin having quarterly meetings for all teachers, parents, or bookworms who want to spend an afternoon encouraging one another and chatting about a good read.

Our first meeting will take place on April 21 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. We enjoyed Gilead so much that we decided this time to talk about Robinson's second book, Home. There's an $11 fee for non-members, but Pelican Society members get in for free. Your only "assignment" is to read Home before joining the discussion...but we promise we won't tell on you if you don't have time to make it through the full text.

And if you missed our summer discussion, you can listen to the recording in our audio library!

Later Event: April 28
