Info for California Charter School Families

As of 2022, new regulations in the state of California prohibit charter schools from funding live teacher-student interaction in certain situations.

CenterForLit makes all of its courses available asynchronously in Google classroom, where students will find video recordings of each course (posted immediately after each class session), written assignments, and teacher feedback in formats acceptable to California.

California charter school parents are solely responsible for complying with state regulations by limiting student participation to the asynchronous resources in the Google classroom.

CenterForLit assumes no responsibility for monitoring or enforcing such compliance.

To register for a CenterForLit course as a California charter school family:

  1. Contact your school to inquire about special pricing;

  2. Ask your school to send us a purchase order;

  3. We will send you a registration packet with complete instructions for joining the Google Classroom;

*Note: This is the same packet we send to all parents, so it will also contain instructions for joining the live classes. Please disregard this information.
